What to bring? For the yoga classes please bring: your own yoga mat, a reusable water bottle, yoga towel (optional), comfortable and breathable clothing, clothing for dinner if you prefer a change, a swimsuit and any medication you might rely on. We also suggest you bring your (travel) insurance documents and 24/7 emergency number. We will ask for this on arrival. We also suggest to bring books to read in your free-time and a notebook to capture your inner progress. If you wish you're more than welcome to bring some cards or games to socialize with the other people. Lastly we ask you for one personal item for our mandala.

What if I want to bring my kids or partner? While we welcome everyone, please note that the festival has limited space and is generally not kid-friendly unless your child already practices yoga. In such cases, we will make an exception. Please contact the organisers on info@zanzibaryogafestival.com to check on kids tickets. With regards to partners, we believe couples who yoga, together stay together ;) However, due to limited rooms and the desire to create a space conducive with personal reflection, relaxation and growth, we ask that everyone staying in the venue hotel, Sunshine Bay, has a ticket - tickets also cover the daily meals. A ticket is also a requirement from the hotel to be eligible to the discounted rate. We suggest your partner either buys a ticket and joins some sessions. Or that you stay in the sister hotel Sunshine Marine, which is very close by, the same standard and has a frequent and free shuttle in between the two hotels. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

How to get to the Yoga Festival Zanzibar? You have a few options in reaching Zanzibar. Either take a bus to Dar Es Salaam and then a ferry to Zanzibar or you can fly to Zanzibar (there are different flight routes and different airlines, kindly check online). Once you arrive, there will be one shuttle from Stonetown to Matemwe on Thursday and one shuttle back on Sunday (times will be communicated). If you arrive later than our shuttle, please take a taxi or public transport to the venue (taxi should be around TZS 80,000, and we can provide phone numbers for reliable drivers).
-
Is there something else I could do before/after the festival?Yes, there are plenty of things to do. We also organize safari tours in the north of Tanzania, mountain climbing, different tours like exploring waterfalls or coffee tours. Feel free to contact us for further information and we can plan your trip together.

Where to stay?We recommend to stay in Sunshine Bay Zanzibar (the venue) as we will spend our days there for the festival. The rooms are very private and can be single, double or triple accommodation. It can help you and the group dynamic if we all stay together, so we can can share and talk about your experience, thoughts, guide each other. Of course Sunshine Bay Zanzibar offers you special rates for your stay during the Yoga Festival. To book, please contact the venue after booking and paying for your ticket, with a copy of your final ticket (stamped paid) in order to get the preferential rates. Their email is yoga2025@sunshinebayzanzibar.com Please look here for more information on the hotel. The Sunshine Marine (a sister hotel only a couple km from Sunshine Bay) offers a daily and regular free shuttle between the hotels (including for those sunrise classes). Please contact the same email to book this hotel.

What is the dress code?Zanzibar is a largely muslim and conservative place, so please be considerate when moving around the island. Within the venue, we recommend you wear something you are comfortable in. Other than that, we have no dress code.
-
What is included in the price? All the yoga classes and workshops. But also you'll get three vegetarian meals per day, drinking water, coffee/tea throughout the day, plus the one shuttle to and from Stonetown. We might add other things as we get closer, we can be cheeky like that ;)
